Time to celebrate some milestones! Today, Commander Jensen flew his 1000th mission. Commander Switzer hit that mark just last month. Commander Guitar has now surpassed 1250 missions and is looking forward to 1500. Help us in congratulating our flight directors for their work with Las Cruces youth. Their mission is to inspire students to pursue STEM related careers.

Our friends at Safe Routes to School teamed up with Southwest Disposal Las Cruces to assemble 178 bikes for 2nd and 3rd grade students in Las Cruces Public Schools who won a writing contest.
Southwest Disposal raised $5,500, and their corporate office generously matched the amount, making it possible to purchase all these bikes! Their hard work, kindness, and generosity are truly inspiring. What an incredible gift to our community.
Safe Routes to School will be giving the bikes to winners of the writing contest next weekend.

Mesilla Winter Lunch for 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade with their family on 12-12-2025

As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to join our friends in Federal Programs in spreading a little extra joy to our students. Many children in our district are hoping for a gift this Christmas, and with your support, we can help make their wish come true.
In the lobby of the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex (505 S. Main St., Suite 249), you’ll find the Wish Upon a Star Tree, each star representing an LCPS student. Every star includes a child’s name, grade level, clothing size, and a heartfelt Christmas wish.
There are still 90 stars waiting to be chosen. If you feel called to brighten a child’s holiday, please select one (or more) and bring it to the receptionist or to the Federal Programs Department so we can register your gift.
Extended deadline: Wrapped gifts may be returned to the Federal Programs Department through Wednesday, Dec. 10, by 5:00 p.m.
If you have questions or would like to help spread the word, please contact Iggy Campos in the Department of Federal Programs at 575-527-6643 or icampos@lcps.net.
Thank you for helping us share warmth, kindness, and holiday cheer with our students. Your generosity truly makes a difference.
